The band was formed in 2012 and the lineup has had a few changes but the core members have been together from the beginning. Sum of Talented Parts
The members of First Impression share a mutual passion and love for the recreation of music. The band works together day and night preparing for performances in order to make sure their live performances are in full harmony. Check out the faces that make up First Impression below.
Rose Danese
Lead Singer, Harmonica, Percussion
Rose Danese is a founding member of First Impression. As Lead Singer, she takes on quite a lot of responsibility, from fine-tuning the musical arrangements to assisting other bandmates with perfecting their performances.
Jonathan Friedman
Vocals and Keyboards
Jonathan, a founding member is central to the sound of First Impression. His keyboard skills, along with his dynamic voice provide the centerpiece to the more Progressive Rock flavor of the band.
Gary Battista
Bass
Gary has been our bassist since 2022 and has stepped up to the plate to take on some of the most challenging bass parts. He along with our drummer Tom hold down the ryhthm section nicely.
John Danese
Guitarist

Dan McKay
John is a founding member of the band and current manager of the band rounds out the guitar work along with Dan McKay.
Dan has been in First Impression since 2019 as Lead and Rytrhm Guitar. He has been in numerous projects in the past and has been an intregal part of the band ever since.
Ted Reed
Drums, Percussion
Ted is First Impression Band “Keeper of the Beats”. Keeping the beats and the band tight along with Bassist Gary, on Drums Ted helps hold it all together.
Maya Rylke-Friedman
Vocals
Maya, First Impression Band's
newest member rounds out the vocals
nicely. Maya brings her wide vocal
range and lovely voice to harmonize perfectly with Rose and Jonathan.

Dave Marabella Was a founding member of the Progressive Era of First Impression. Dave has been on the scene for decades and still performs in the Philadelphia are in some top bands.
Tom was a founding member of First Impression. Tom has come back to the band and with a busy schedule he had retired from the band in 2025. Tom may come in to sub from time to time as well.
